CONNIE WINTERS, who is a strong influence in the art scene, resides and
paints in a lovely garden setting in North Carolina.
Popular in the Southeast for her vibrant impressionist style oil
painting, she has developed quite a following. As Connie says, "It's
becoming increasingly difficult to keep up with the demand-- a
delightful dilemma." Her paintings are found in some of the most
prominent private collections, including that of John Randolph Hearst,
Jr. of New York and corporate collections in the East.
Connie's paintings have a wonderful appeal for lush, lively colors and
capturing the vitality of sunlight. Inviting and intimate interiors,
sunny landscapes with architectural accents, and bright riots of flowers
in garden scenes are among her most favored subjects.
Connie has a history of skill in drawing and painting, which go back to
childhood. She received most of her instruction privately from many
notable artists. Included in those are Phillip Moose, Shirley Markham,
the late Alice Steadman, several Atlanta artists, the late Constantine
Chatov, Mark Chatov and Henry Barnes.
Variety keeps Connie's interest. At least two to three times a year she
travels for new material. Her paintings frequently reflect images from
her yearly visits to Europe, particularly the countryside of Normandy,
France and Tuscany, Italy.
